Islamic Liberal Arts
Education

A rigorous and beautiful education rooted in the Islamic intellectual tradition and the classical Western liberal arts.

Educating the Whole Person

An Education for the
Whole Person

Adab Academy provides a holistic education that blends our inherited Islamic tradition with the classical Western liberal arts. Our aim is to nurture students into well-rounded individuals who possess the intellectual and moral virtues and to instill in them a reverence for the Divine.

Our students study the trivium and great works of the Islamic and Western traditions — reasoning carefully, discussing seriously, reading deeply, and writing with precision, care, and beauty.

Reading the Foundations
of Two Traditions

At the heart of Adab Academy is the close reading of great books. Students engage directly with the primary sources — not summaries or textbooks, but the works themselves — conversing across centuries with the minds who shaped our world.

Our seminars draw from both the Islamic intellectual tradition and the classical Western liberal arts, placing Plato alongside al-Ghazālī and Thucydides alongside Ibn Khaldūn.

Why Adab Academy

An Education that Forms
the Whole Person

Small Classes

Intimate class sizes ensure every student is known, heard, and engaged with — the conditions for genuine learning.

Live Discussion

Socratic and dialectical instruction conducted in real time — students learn by speaking, questioning, and reasoning together.

Great Books

Students read the actual works — Plato, Aristotle, al-Ghazālī, Ferdowsi — not summaries, not textbooks, but the texts themselves.

Islamic Tradition

The curriculum is grounded in the Islamic scholarly tradition — from the science of logic to the purification of the soul.

Character Formation

Education is the kindling of a flame. We cultivate moral virtue alongside intellectual discipline — the formation of adab.

Western Liberal Arts

Students learn the trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric in order to engage with complex and seminal texts.

Logic & Reasoning

Students learn to think and argue with clarity and comportment through our logic and dialectic courses.

Reverence for the Divine

All learning is oriented toward the Divine. Reverence is not an add-on — it is the beginning, the end, and the animating spirit of a true education.

The mind is not a vessel that needs filling,
but wood that needs igniting.

Plutarch
