Formal Logic
Master the principles of valid reasoning through a rigorous study of traditional logic — definitions, propositions, categorical syllogisms, and formal argumentation drawn from Aristotle and the Arabic logical tradition.

Building on Formal Logic, students explore dialectical reasoning, the proper etiquette of disputation, informal fallacies, and the logic of categorizing existence.

ʿIlm al-Akhlāq is the Islamic science of character development — incorporating psychology of the soul, spiritual purification, the cultivation of virtues, warding of vices, and social relations that promote harmony and justice.
Great Books Seminar
Seminar 1: Living the Good Life
A Great Books seminar exploring what it means to live well. Students read and discuss foundational texts from Plato, Aristotle, al-Ghazālī, and Ibn Ṭufayl.
